What made Jesus attract sinners/undesirables?
The Gospels depict Jesus As a “good/spiritual” man to whom many “sinners and outcasts” found themselves attracted. This would seem to be a rare combination, since “sinners” typically avoid people perceived as “religious” or “spiritual.” Discuss what you think it was about Jesus’ demeanor, personality, or behavior that attracted so many “undesirables” to him. What lessons could “church” people today learn from Jesus about relating to others?
I’m sure my Christianity teacher would just LOVE to hear some of those responses.
Undesirables at the time when a leper and a prostitute were CONSIDERED undesirables. Seriously?
