Believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour
Believing in Jesus Christ is more specific. On the other hand, different people have different ideas of who or what “god” is.
What believing in Jesus Christ is? Believing in Jesus Christ is much much more than believing in his existence. Even the demons believe in that! You do not have to totally understand the concepts behind the word “believing”, but do realize that believing in Jesus Christ is not a free ride. Now in answer to the question, believing in Jesus Christ is reflected in every area of your life, your heart, your thoughts and your actions. Fear-Not, believing in Jesus Christ is of Free Choice and no one can make one to Believe-Not, even government. Therefore believing in Jesus Christ is a spiritual connection requiring faith in Him, belief in The Holy Bible as the inspired WORD.
It is declared that more than believing in Jesus Christ is required, and the reality is that if believing in Jesus Christ is not accompanied by evidence of good works, there is no real belief in Jesus As Lord and Saviour. Not only that, but believing in Jesus Christ is the means by which the gift of decreed goodness in God’s eyes is given, along with the ability to do Good. The journey of following and believing in Jesus Christ is healing, renewing and transformational for every part of our lives, and is unique for each person. Therefore, believing in Jesus Christ is trying and reaching the kingdom of God. Jesus Christ is the torch bearer, and the need to follow him faithfully.
Believing in Jesus Christ is to make a decision at a definite point in time, a deliberate choice to trust Jesus Christ alone for salvation. What is salvation? It is not preaching, it is not crying, it is simply accepting and believing in Jesus Christ is Lord, and believing is that way! Jesus is quoted in the Book of John as saying; I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. Explain that having faith or believing in Jesus Christ is the first step in becoming a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ.
If believing in Jesus Christ is the same as “accepting Jesus”, it is important to notice that at no time in the scripture was a person told they were saved. Believing in Jesus Christ is provable, yet it cannot be understood unless you have faith in Him. The idea of believing in Jesus Christ is so appealing but where is the proof? The wonderful masterpiece of the earth we live on is proof.
For the person the believer; the main benefit of believing in Jesus Christ is the promise of eternal life in Heaven with God the Father. Believing in Jesus Christ is what saves you. Note the following. (John 3:15-16) “That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” Believing in Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven.
The question invariably comes up: “Why do you say believing in Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven?”

AND PETER And Other Sermons $0.99 Ordinarily a book like this should take its name from the first chapter of its contents. But Peter is such a favorite of mine that I take the liberty of writing his name at the top of the page.Next to the Lord Jesus, of all whose names are mentioned in the New Testament, I long to see Peter. The sermons are sent forth with the great desire that they may be for His glory, “whom having not seen,” I have loved. They have been kindly spoken of in many cities. That they may in some little way comfort the comfortless, strengthen the weak, and “by all means save some,” is my earnest prayer.J. Wilbur Chapman |

Saved is Not Home Free $17.45 Jesus Christ, holy Son of God, was born, lived, died, and resurrected that we might know what God is really like, and to teach/show us what we need to do, in order that we might obtain salvation from our sins and death. We however, have an essential task – accept him as Lord and Savior, believe in him, and follow him. The rub comes in when we really understand what “believe in him” and “follow him” mean and imply. The purpose of the book is to clarify what “believe in him” and “follow him” mean and entail, as a wake-up call to Christians and potential Christians. Jesus did his part, and a wonderful part it was, but we have an important part to play too. |

”What are the things that set your soul on fire?”: Charles Finney’s approach to emotion in worship. $49.99 Charles Finney is often viewed by liturgical scholars as being the forefather of the modern megachurch, developing scientific tools designed to increase the likelihood of conversion in his hearers. In the view of these scholars, Finney was primarily as a pragmatist; worse, in the minds of some, he was an emotionally manipulative pragmatist. Yet such a reading overlooks Finney’s complex approach to emotion. This dissertation examines Finney’s “emotionology,” or his beliefs about the proper expression of emotion. When a will properly aligned with God turned its attention to truth about God, Finney believed an emotional response necessarily occurred. A range of emotions occurred naturally to a godly worshiper: abhorrence of sin and agony, as well as joy and peace of mind. Finney believed that revivalists who sought to manipulate the emotions directly were doomed to failure, for emotions were properly speaking not causes of change but effects of truth on a rightly aligned will and intellect.;This dissertation takes a sweeping look at how this emotionology was reflected throughout the whole range of worship practices which Finney planned. Attention is given to Finney’s rhetorical techniques and use of Scripture in preaching, his practice of holding public prayer meetings, his approach to liturgical space, and his understanding of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The work concludes by re-examining the link between Finney and the pragmatism and the modern megachurch; while Finney would applaud the scientific approach of many megachurches, he likely would eschew their focus on making the listener comfortable in order to encourage her to make a decision to follow Jesus. The work concludes by examining other potential liturgical heirs of Finney’s legacy, including worship planners who practice “primal leadership,” Daniel Goleman’s term for emotionally intelligent leadership which recognizes the ways that emotions hold the key to people’s willingness to change. |
