What is the ancient aramaic word and definition for “Faithfulness?”?
I’m doing a devotional Bible Study on how men should treat their wives with respect. Matthew 19:9 says “I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaitfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery.” (NIV’84) To understand it deeper I would like to know the original text meaning of “Faithfulness”
Matthew was originally written in Greek

1 Samuel $0.01 I SAMUEL. Things don’t look good for Israel. Military attacks threaten from without, and moral corruption destroys from within. But God, in His Grace, will use three men to guide Israel through these crises into the next stage of His plan. Samuel, the prophet who directs Israel’s transition from judgeship to monarchy; Saul, the first king, who epitomizes what God doesn’t want in a leader; and David, the man after God’s own heart. These men remain perfect examples of godliness-and half-hearted commitment-for Christians today. LifeChange Series: Christians have a lifelong goal: to become like Christ. This involves change, and change isn’t always easy. But the more you know of God’s purposes for you, the more you can experience His joy and participate in His plan. The LifeChange Series of Bible studies on books of the Bible can help you grow in Christlikeness through a life-changing encounter with God’s Word. You’ll benefit in these important ways: 1) You’ll gain a firm understanding of the book-its historical context, purpose, structure, and meaning; 2) You’ll apply its powerful, relevant wisdom to needs and issues you are currently working through; and 3) You’ll acquire personal study skills and a thirst to return to the book on your own-so you can keep going deeper into its life-transforming truths. |

A Soldiers Strength From The Psalms $5.23 Knowing that no one comprehends the challenges that a soldier faces like another soldier, the inspiration for this book comes from the writings of an ancient soldier who righteously protected the innocent; stood firm on the ferocious frontlines of battle; patrolled dangerous checkpoints; walked the lonely late night and early morning watches; guarded city gates; climbed rugged terrain in all kinds of weather; and faced enemies in the deserts and on the mountains. That soldier, King David, endured many of the same experiences as today’s soldier. He also needed and drew strength daily from Almighty God. He wrote of his struggles and victories, recorded his prayers and praises from his experiences. What encouragement, hope, and comfort come from the Psalms he left to us.This devotional countdown calendar-journal is meant to be a source of daily encouragement, a place where soldiers and their families can record feelings and events that have impacted them during their deployment experience. It is a legacy of shared courage and sacrifice of and for the outstanding men and women who serve our great nation in military service.About the Author:Sharon Patterson, retired educator, career military wife, and leader in women’s ministry, has written inspirational encouragement in various forms, from greeting cards to short stories, poetry, and Bible studies for over twenty-five years. Sharon and her husband, retired Colonel Garry Patterson, are the parents of three grown sons. Two sons presently serve in the U.S. Army. Sharon and Garry reside in Round Rock, Texas.\ |

Anglican Evangelical Identity $11.07 What does it mean to be an Anglican? And Evangelical? Can these two identities be held together with integrity? Where the church seems to be fragmenting, how should we relate to the rest of the Anglican Church? Thirty years ago two influential Anglican thinkers, J.I. Packer and N.T. Wright, addressed these questions in short and provocative Latimer Studies. Their work remains stimulating and important, and is republished here for a new generation, with fresh prefaces from each author reflecting on recent developments. “The Evangelical Anglican Identity Problem” (Packer, 1978) addressed Anglican evangelicals who were unsure whether it was warrantable to continue as Anglicans. “Evangelical Anglican Identity: The Connection Between Bible, Gospel & Church”(Wright, 1980) builds upon Packer’s study, addressing Evangelical attitudes to the church. “A Kind of Noah’s Ark?” (Packer, 1981) had in view clergy and laity who were baffled and discouraged by the continually broadening spectrum of tolerated unorthodoxies within the Church of England, and in particular the hesitations felt by young men called to be pastors who were unsure whether it made sense to pursue their vocation as Anglicans. All three pieces were thus tracts for the times, but are astonishingly relevant today.J. I. Packer is Board of Governors’ Professor of Theology at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia. He is one of the most important evangelical theologians of the last fifty years. N. T. Wright is Bishop of Durham and a highly respected New Testament scholar, publishing at both academic and popular levels. |

Bible Studies in the Life of Paul $0.99 This ebook is complete with linked Table of Content making navigation quicker and easier.Bible Studies in the Live of Paul , Historical and Constructive:The book of Acts shows in a very graphic way the rapid growth and marvelous progress of Christianity in the midst of great opposition. We see in process of fulfillment the promise of Jesus Christ to his disciples that they should receive power after the Holy Ghost had come upon them and that they should be witnesses unto Him “both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” Those were earnest times and full of stirring events, when men went forth to conquer a hostile world not with swords, but by the preaching of a gospel of peace and good will. As soon as this proclamation was made in Judea and Samaria a new instrument was chosen by Jesus Christ, in Paul, to carry His message to the uttermost part of the earth. He thus became at once the chief character in the larger work of planting and developing churches outside of Palestine. The study of Paul’s life shows the difficulties encountered, the doctrines taught, and the organization perfected in the early churches. “We here watch the dawn of the gospel which the Savior preached as it broadens gradually into the boundless day.”Bible Studies in the Life of Paul is designed to follow the author’s Bible Studies in the Life of Christ and to show the work of the Great Apostle in carrying the gospel to a Gentile world. The aim is to present the work of Paul in a constructive and historical way. While there has been a careful consideration, on the part of the author, of disputed questions, only conclusions upon which there is a general agreement amongst scholars, and which can be consistently held, are presented. The great main facts of Paul’s life and work stand forth unchallenged and the emphasis is placed upon them. This book is divided into three parts, Paul’s preparation for his work, his missionary |
