Bible Lessons For Adults

Was I ever a real Christian? Prior to the age of 10 or 11, I never doubted god, and I really didn’t give up…?
believing entirely until I was about 15. Christians are always saying I was never a “real Christian”, but for many years, I really believed god and Jesus were real, and I really believed I wanted to go to heaven. I did try to follow the moral lessons of the Bible and Jesus’ teachings. I was raised Catholic, I attended catechism classes for seven years, and I received all the sacraments.
I believe I was just as “real a Christian” as adult Christians are. I simply abandoned my convictions about Jesus Christ in the same manner as I gave up my genuine beliefs in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and The Tooth Fairy.
Molly – please elaborate. How was I not a Christian if I accepted Jesus Christ?
hmm… I’m not going to make any absolute statements here, but it sounds to me like you were a cultural Christian.
I guess the thing is that people don’t usually count their childhood convictions as very serious. Do you know what I mean?
God is… Listening — Bible Lesson for Kids — Pastor Dave

A Word to the Wise: Lessons from Proverbs for young adults $8.18 It happens each day; a high school girl considers dating a non-Christian; young couples cross dangerous physical and emotional boundaries; students fail classes they could pass with ease given the effort; teenagers are locked in an eternal battle with their parents. Challenging teens with lessons learned in Proverbs, A Word to the Wise encourages the reader to choose wisdom, not folly; life, not death; God, not the world. With that same passion, A Word to the Wise challenges Christian youth across the globe to commit to a life of Christ-honoring wisdom. Packed with daily application and helpful hints for navigating the murky waters of the teenage years, A Word to the Wise offers clear, biblical exposition of a book steeped in relevance for today.Brandon Cooper draws from experience as youth pastor and chaplain at a Christian missionary school sharing his insight into the trials and temptations of the modern teen. As a missionary serving with the youth of Colombia, he encounters young adults struggling to make good choices when it comes to dating, school and family. Desperate to see these young people pursuing God’s glory with passion, Cooper writes directly to them with a palpable pastoral concern. Cooper chooses Proverbs, with its pithy statements and biblical wisdom, to train teens to choose God’s best. .With study questions at the end of each chapter, students contemplate some of the most important issues they face as a young adult.
